Eat Great and Participate and Colemans Join the 2026 NL Summer Games Team

Corner Brook, NL – June 12, 2026 – The 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games Host Society is proud to announce that Eat Great and Participate and Colemans has joined as a Friend of the Games, helping to support the health, well-being, and nutrition of more than 1,600 athletes, coaches, managers, and mission staff who will gather in Corner Brook for the province’s largest multi-sport event.

Through this partnership, Eat Great and Participate and Colemans will support the Athlete Break Areas located throughout the Games, ensuring participants have access to nutritious snacks as they compete, connect, and celebrate sport from August 8–15, 2026.

All food and snack items provided through the initiative will be supplied by Colemans, a longstanding supporter of healthy communities and local sport throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

“Proper nutrition plays a critical role in athletic performance, recovery, and overall well-being,” said Cassidy Mercer, Games Manager for the 2026 NL Summer Games. “We are grateful to Eat Great and Participate and Colemans for helping us create welcoming spaces where athletes can refuel and recharge throughout the week.”

Eat Great and Participate is a provincial program of Recreation Newfoundland & Labrador that is supported by the department of Tourism, culture, arts, and recreation. EGAP focuses on creating health supporting environments by increasing access to nutritious foods and beverages in recreation, sport and community settings. Their partnership with the Games aligns perfectly with the event’s commitment to fostering healthy, active communities and ensuring athletes have access to nutritious options throughout the week.

“We are excited to support the 2026 NL Summer Games and the thousands of young athletes who will gather in Corner Brook this August,” said Marissa Park, Registered Dietitian and Eat Great and Participate Program Specialist. “Providing access to nutritious snacks is a simple but important way to help participants perform at their best and enjoy a positive Games experience.”

The Athlete Break Areas will serve as dedicated spaces where participants can relax, connect with fellow athletes, and access nutritious refreshments between competitions and activities.

The 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games will take place in Corner Brook from August 8–15, bringing together athletes from across the province to compete in a celebration of sport, community, and excellence.
